Meet Lindsay

Nice to meet you. 😊 I’m Lindsay, a Registered Dietitian (RD) with 12 years of experience and a degree in Biochemistry and Human Nutritional Sciences. As a mom of three, I understand the challenges busy parents face in prioritizing their health amidst daily life. That’s why I founded Lindsay Martens Nutrition—to help you thrive beyond diet culture and find sustainable, health-promoting habits without getting stuck in all or nothing thinking. My mission is to guide you in discovering sustainable, healthy habits through Health at Every Size (HAES), Intuitive Eating, nutritional science and the science of habits. I provide compassionate, friendly, and warm guidance, focusing on nourishment as care for the body rather than control.

A healthy relationship with food and your body means making choices that feel good for your body and doing things that benefit your life. This includes reconnecting with your body’s signals and cues to rely more on internal motivators. Bodies aren’t good or bad—they’re just bodies. The same is true for food.

The meaning behind the name

Most parents are familiar with the slogan “FED IS BEST” as they learn to feed their new babies. This powerful message reminds us that feeding our children is about nourishment and care, not perfection. However, this principle doesn’t stop at infancy—it holds true for all stages of life. FED isn’t just a catchy slogan;

it’s a vital reminder that being well-nourished is essential for everyone, regardless of age.

The courses, FED Mamas and FED Kids, build on this idea, promoting a healthy, balanced approach to eating that prioritizes well-being over restrictive diets.

The name FED also carries a deeply personal significance.

My children’s names spell FED, and their generation is the inspiration behind these programs. I created FED Mamas and FED Kids to help break the cycle of generational diet culture, teaching new, healthier habits that will last a lifetime.

By providing parents with the skills and confidence to guide a positive relationship with food for their children, we can end the harmful patterns of dieting and restriction.
