Tastes Like Spring Asparagus

Tastes like Spring Asparagus

Equipment

  • oven with broil function
  • measuring spoons
  • Baking sheet
  • frying pan (optional)

Ingredients

Asparagus

  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 lb) trim ends (I like to snap them instead of cut them)
  • 1 tbsp oil I like to use canola oil because of the high smoke point but you can use whatever you prefer

For Drizzle

  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp minced garlic or 1/8 tsp dried minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Set oven to broil
  • Snap ends off of asparagus
  • Mix asparagus with 1 tbsp oil
  • Spread out asparagus on baking sheet in a single layer
  • Broil in oven for about 4-6 minutes until slightly charred
  • Mix lemon juice, white wine vinegar, 2 tsp oil, honey, garlic, salt, and pepper together to make drizzle
  • When asparagus is done, transfer to a plate or serving dish
  • Pour drizzle over top of asparagus
  • To make it look even more impressive, toast some slivered or sliced almonds in a dry frying pan and sprinkle on top
